After my gluten free banana pancake recipe post, I received many queries about where I sourced my oat flour. Oat flour is the easiest flour that you can possibly make. Oats are naturally gluten-free but are sometimes processed in factories which process other grains like wheat. So make sure that your oats are labelled gluten free if you have any allergies.

Oat flour can be used on its own, mixed with other gluten free flours or even with white flour to add some texture and substance to your baked goods. I love using oat flour in cakes and cookies as well. Making oat flour at home is also much cheaper than buying it at a store. So its a win-win situation all around!

With this easy to make oat flour recipe, you never need to buy store-bought oat flour again! Perfect to use for baking.

Yields1 Serving
Prep Time5 minsTotal Time5 mins

1 cup rolled oats (gluten free if required)

1

Add the oats to a blender or food processor. Blend until the oats are a fine powder.

2

If you want to be really finicky then sift the oats powder and remove the slightly larger bits that do not pass through. I never bother with this step though and just use the oat flour once it is blended.
