If you have never attempted making peanut butter at home then you are going to be absolutely flabbergasted when you realise how easy and convenient it is. Pretty much one ingredient and you are good to go. You can add a little salt, honey and oil like I have but if you want to keep it to 100% peanuts then you can definitely do that as well.
I find roasting my peanuts always gives a better result than using ready roasted peanuts. The oils released while roasting help it blend better. Peanuts need to go through a couple of stages before turning into peanut butter so be patient!
This is after 1 minute.

Just be forewarned that you will never get the absolutely smooth kind like your regular commercial brands. It will be slightly more rough in texture but the taste will be absolutely mind-blowing! The best part is that you know exactly what is going in it and you can adjust that according to your preferences. Add oil, don't add oil, add salt, don't add salt, add honey or add sugar, it is all up to YOU!
This homemade peanut butter is much tastier, healthier and less expensive that the ones that you buy from the store.
Preheat your oven to 180°C. Place all your raw peanuts on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 11 to 12 minutes.
I find that the easiest way to peel roasted peanuts is to rub them together in a kitchen towel. The skins will fall off and you will be left with your beautiful peeled roasted peanut.
Put them in your food processor and start blending. It takes a little time so you will need to process the peanuts for at least 6 minutes.
Once it reached this stage, add the honey, salt and oil.
Blend for another 2 minutes till you get the required consistency. Transfer to a glass storage container, cover and refrigerate.
