Is it as difficult for you to find perfect strawberries as it seems to be for me? Most of the time, I am pretty unlucky and find myself settling for tiny strawberries which are more green than red. Well this time it looked like my luck had changed. I managed to get the most PERFECT strawberries - luscious, juicy and the most beautiful reddish pink colour. I definitely didn't want to waste this opportunity and was wondering what I would make with them.

At the same time, my husband Chirag has been following a fat loss challenge initiated by his exercise group, The Quad. So there have been many restrictions in his diet. Anyway to cut a long story short, he can't have sugar (This includes honey, maple syrup, palm sugar etc) but is always craving some sort of dessert.

Here comes my ice cream maker to the rescue! I decided to try out a sugarless strawberry and banana frozen yoghurt. He absolutely loooooves a good fro-yo. Obviously because there is no sugar added to this recipe, it isn't very sweet but I feel that you can really taste the fruits. You also need to make sure that you use fresh good quality strawberries. Another equally important point is to use very ripe bananas. This is how you will get a certain level of sweetness that you just cannot attain with not-so-ripe ones. In case this is too hardcore for you then go ahead and add a couple of tablespoons of honey. Either way it is absolutely deeeeelish!

A delicious fruity frozen yoghurt which is totally sugar free and made with just 3 ingredients!

Yields6 Servings
Prep Time10 minsCook Time1 hrTotal Time1 hr 10 mins

 1 ½ cups strawberries
 2 bananas
 ½ cup greek yogurt

1

Remove the green leaves from the strawberries. Chop the banana and strawberries into small pieces and put them in a food processor.

2

Add the yogurt to the fruit mix and blend the puree till it is nice and smooth. To be honest, don't bother with it being too smooth since its actually quite nice to have small bits of the fruit in the frozen yogurt.

3

Pour the mixture into your ice cream machine. Churn till you achieve a lovely soft serve consistency. Best eaten straight from the ice cream machine. If you need to eat it later then transfer it into an air tight container and freeze.
